Code of Conduct

Purpose

To create a safe, respectful, and high-performing environment where athletes can grow both on and off the court. This Code of Conduct applies to all players, coaches, and parents involved with the organisation.

All Club Member Expectations

  1. Respect

    1. Show respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators.

    2. Refrain from using inappropriate language or gestures at all times.

  2. Effort and Attitude

    1. Always give 100% effort during practices and games.

    2. Maintain a positive attitude and support teammates at all times.

  3. Responsibility

    1. Take care of uniforms, equipment, and facilities.

  4. No Tolerance for Bullying or Harassment

    1. Any form of bullying (verbal, physical, online) will result in disciplinary action, including possible removal from the club.

Representative Team Player Expectations

  1. Commitment

    1. Attend all practices, matches, and team events unless excused by the coach.

    2. Arrive on time and be prepared (mentally and physically) for all activities.

    3. Communicate absences or issues with the coach/manager in advance.

  2. Sportsmanship

    1. Win or lose, show dignity and respect. Shake hands with opponents and officials.

    2. Never engage in trash talk, taunting, or retaliatory behaviour.

Coach, Manager, and Officer Expectations

  1. Leadership by Example

    • Model respectful and ethical behaviour at all times.

  2. Development-Focused

    • Prioritize player development, safety, and enjoyment over winning at all costs.

  3. Communication

    • Communicate clearly and respectfully with players.

    • Provide constructive feedback and support.

  4. Inclusivity

    • Foster an inclusive and team-oriented environment.

    • Ensure equal opportunities for learning and growth.

Parent and Supporter Expectations

  1. Supportive Behaviour

    • Encourage all players positively.

    • Let the coaches coach. Avoid yelling instructions during games.

  2. Respect

    • Show respect to referees, coaches, players, and other parents.

    • Do not engage in negative talk or criticism from the sidelines.

  3. Communication

    • Address concerns through proper channels (e.g., scheduled meetings with the coach, manager, Head of Coaches).

  4. Team Culture

    • Help uphold the team’s values and spirit at all events.

Consequences for Violations

Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings

  • Suspension from games or practices

  • Removal from the club (with no refund)
